Who you deal with
Four roles stand between a telephone call and a watertight roof. Each is described here, along with where one hands over to the next.
Nobody on this page is named, for a reason given at the end. What matters more is which role does what, and what has been checked before anyone arrives at your property.
- The overnight line
- An automated assistant takes first contact at any hour, recording the calling number, the property location and your description of what the roof is doing. A person then reviews it and rings back. The automated stage exists because storms do not arrive during business hours and because the roofer who could answer a question about fastener schedules is usually on a ladder when you ring. What it is not is a filter — every call reaches a person.
- Triage
- The person returning your call, establishing from your description what is likely wrong. Water entering during rain with a stain some distance from the penetration points at flashing or a vent boot. Shingles visibly missing after wind means a lifted zone around the gap that has to be found by hand. Damp patches appearing at several unrelated points on a metal roof means perished fastener washers across the whole roof. That assessment determines what goes on the truck and how urgently it leaves, which is why the questions are specific rather than conversational.
- The attending contractor
- An independent roofing contractor assigned to the job, operating their own business, vehicle and insurance, and not employed by Gulfport Roof & Storm. Before any address is passed to them, we verify their Mississippi State Board of Contractors licence number where the work exceeds the statutory thresholds, and their certificate of insurance. You are entitled to ask to see both at your door, and we would encourage you to.
- Whoever handles it afterwards
- Gulfport Roof & Storm, for anything that goes wrong. We selected the contractor, so a complaint about their work comes here and is pursued with them on your behalf under the timeframes at complaints. Documentation, photographs and the job record stay with us for two years.
Why nobody is named or photographed
Because the contractor working in Waveland on a Tuesday may not be the one in Ocean Springs on Thursday, and a page of staff photographs would imply a fixed crew that does not exist. Publishing one would be the easiest thing on this site to fabricate, which is precisely why it is not here. What is published instead is the structure, at referral marketing disclosure, and the verification applied before anyone is sent.
Any of this can be asked about directly on (228) 364-1994, including which contractor is assigned to your roof and what was checked before they were sent.
